This place has the softest and best flavor curry in town (imo). If you have a peanut allergy I would be careful of the curries. But the chicken curry is super juicy and tender! A must try place.

This was my second time at Nippon Curry and it was as good as my first time! I’m not sure why this place isn’t busier, but this OTC joint serves up some of the best Japanese curry dishes in the Bay Area! I ordered the Pork Katsu Curry and it was lightly breaded and juicy, smothered with the restaurants beautiful curry sauce. Sometimes I think I should order something else from the Sides menu, but the portions served here are BIG! The service and staff here are friendly and the restaurant itself has numerous seating, even at the peak of the lunch hour.

I never liked Japanese curry until I came here. Wow, the karaage was incredible, it was so juicy, and the the curry was so rich and delightful The workers are so kind, and the vibe in there is so comforting, I'm pretty sure they played some Hikaru Utada while I was eating. So so good. Great food, great service, great mood. I was smiling the whole time.

Finally got to try Nippon Curry in the Marina. I got the chicken katsu curry with their vegetarian roux. I’m so glad that is an option because I don’t eat beef. And I’m happy to report that the veggie version is pretty good! It still has deep flavors that I expect from a Japanese curry. And it was a peppery, which was a surprise to me. I liked the spice and I didn’t think it was overwhelming. The chicken was perfectly crisp and the pickles gave the dish the acidity it needed. It is optional, but I recommend getting them. I love Japanese curry and I’m glad the city has another option on where to get some.

Always consistent with their curry. Of all the Japanese curry restraunts I reviewed in the SF, this is my favorite. Just took a off a star in atmosphere because there were some flies flying around our food. Other than that, I'd give it a full 5 Stars.

The most delicious bowl of Japanese Curry we ever had across America!! The Hinoya curry is mouthwatering and delicious. We can testify as native asians that this is as good as it gets! The owners are really friendly and welcoming. And the ambience is chill and calming. We do hope this becomes a chain store across America!!

So far the best Japanese curry I've found. I only wish they would have spice options. However they do have a vegetarian roux which is spicier, and even if you don't want to go with that you can always just pile on the tōgarashi. Very nice staff and a lovely experience. (Tonkatsu curry pictured)
